Packaging Associate - Fab
Position Summary:
Successful Packing Associates enjoy the challenges of working in a fast paced, team-oriented environment while safely completing the processes associated with packaging finished product.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Visually inspect product aesthetics to ensure compliance with customer specifications
Ability to read schedule, set up area with required packaging materials and delivery appropriate cartons to the cells
Recognize quality defects and take appropriate action
Accurately perform disposition of package finished goods in accordance with packaging guidelines
Communicate issues to technicians
Accurately document production data
Able to operate the following equipment in the packaging area: baler, pallet walkie/jack, case sealer & pack size machine.
Observe safety and security procedures & reports potentially unsafe conditions
Participate in continuous improvement projects/events
Maintain a clean orderly work environment by organizing, sweeping, empting trash receptacles, and following 5S
Actively participate in shift exchange by giving & receive critical information
Forklift operation
Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Mathematical Skills
Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud and PPE is required. Appropriate hearing protection while in the plant is required as noise levels within the facility meet OSHA requirements for hearing protection equipment.
