Summer Position - May through August


Production team members are responsible for:

  • Prepare parts & ensure correct materials in appropriate quantities are staged/supplied to the fabrication lines in both furniture and panel cells

  • Able to maneuver hand tools including but not limited to: screw driver, wrench, hammer, pliers utility knife, scraper, tape gun, glue gun

  • Capable to operate power and air tools including but not limited to: drill/screw gun, staple gun, brad nailer, router, and chop saw

  • Follow standard work processes and use/support LEAN concepts and tools such as KAN BAN, lean scheduling, 5S, Poke a Yoke, and visual daily metrics boards

  • Assemble furniture using the appropriate jigs and hand tools

  • Successfully complete frequent visual quality inspection at every work station of boards for scratches, voids, scuffs then buff or polish out all minor marks prior to packaging to insure furniture meets quality specifications

  • Complete and accurate documentation of production, scrap, run conditions, and other key data; track scrapped pieces for recut and inventory control, accurately and honestly fill out paperwork and log sheets

  • Securely wrap, pad, strap, pack and palletize finished product for shipment

  • Print labels and disposition production in IQMS

  • Clean filters, change dust collection bags on air filtration system and keep work area swept and organized

  • Visually inspect product aesthetics to ensure compliance with customer specifications

  • Ability to read schedule, set up area with required packaging materials and delivery appropriate cartons to the cells

  • Recognize quality defects and take appropriate action

  • Accurately perform disposition of package finished goods in accordance with packaging guidelines

  • Communicate issues to technicians

  • Accurately document production data

  • Participate in shift change meetings

  • Other duties may be assigned

Requirements:

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to accurately compare color and pattern of products to quality control standards

  • Minimum Age Requirement: 18 yrs old

  • GED or High School Diploma

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
